February 15,2026 – A set of late penalties would seal the deal for the Huntsville Havoc during Sunday’s Mardi Gras game against the Knoxville Ice Bears.

With under 5 minutes left in the game, a hooking call against Cole Reginato was answered quickly by the Ice Bears bringing the score 4-3 in their favor.

The Knoxville sealer goal was scored by Kyle Soper with assists from Ryan Kuzmich and Tyler Williams.

Though a strong defensive push in the last three minutes of play, including a goalie pull and several line changes, the Havoc simply could not recover.

In the first period, Matt Allen opened the scoring for the Havoc, netting his ninth goal of the season. Cole Reginato picked up his 15th assist of the year, while Connor Fries added his 16th helper on the play, setting up Allen to put Huntsville on the board.

However, the score would be short lived with an unassisted goal from Knoxville’s Kyle Soper would bring the score 1-1.

Scoring under two minutes into the second period was Knoxville’s Dawson McKinney with an assist from Jared Westcott.

Later in the second Knoxville’s Ryan Kuzmich found the back of the net, scoring his 16th goal of the season, with asses from Jarret Kup and Carson Vance.

Also in the second, Ethan Lindsay picked up his eighth goal of the season, finishing off a strong offensive sequence. Giovanni Procopio recorded his 16th assist of the year, while Captain Dominick Procopio. added his eighth helper, as the Procopio duo combined to set up Lindsay’s tally for Huntsville.

Havoc’s final netter came during a power play late in the second period. This time Connor Fries capitalized on the man advantage, burying his 10th goal of the season on the power play. Matt Allen recorded his 15th assist of the year, while Cole Reginato added his 16th assist on the play

The Ice Bears win Sunday brought their current SPHL winning streak to five games in a row.

Huntsville went 0-2 on the weekend gameplay, losing Friday (Feb. 13) to the Evansville Thunderbolts, 1-0.

Huntsville’s Dysen Skinner went 18 for 22 shots on goal while Knoxville’s Connor Green went 38 for 41.
