Havoc Broadcast Team Hits the Road for First Away Call of the Season

Havoc fans tuning into FloHockey for the Monday, February 16 (2026) road game against the Birmingham Bulls are in for broadcasting treat.

Jacob Murphy and Guy Schafer, the duo behind Huntsville Havoc’s Broadcast Team, will be on location at the Pelham Civic Complex in Birmingham (Ala.) to bring listeners the call for yet another “Battle for Bama” matchup between the Havoc and Bulls.

“We are thrilled to debut our first road broadcast against our in-state rival,” said Murphy. “Havoc fans travel with incredible passion, and we felt it was only right that we do the same.”

Puck drop for Monday’s Feb. 16 President’s Day game is set for 1 p.m.

This will be the first away call for the duo this season.

They’re part of a new broadcast partnership between the Havoc and Bandits Hockey, a local hockey media brand with a strong online following. Under that partnership, Murphy and Schafer provide play-by-play and color commentary for Havoc home game streams on FloHockey.

“It’s been a complete honor. If you asked me at the start of the season what I thought my experience is gonna be like I would’ve been way off in trying to describe it. It’s been absolutely amazing,” said Schafer.

Schafer, who provides color commentary during the games to Murphy’s play-by-play, commented on the preparation and commitment Murphy has to the broadcast booth each week.

“Just being with Jacob and what a constant professional he is in his preparation for every game day, that’s been amazing,” Schafer said.

Earlier this season, The Reekin’ Havoc podcast had both Murphy, Schaffer on the show to introduce themselves to the Havoc fan base.

“We can’t thank everybody enough for the welcome we’ve received throughout the entire league from all our fellow broadcasters, but especially our fellow fans in Huntsville. It has been absolutely amazing and we hope we are able to come back and do many more,” said Schafer.

For Murphy this season has been a whirlwind of excitement. He calls it a “true honor” to have this role.

“It’s been an absolute blast!” said Murphy. “We believe it’s important to start to bring our coverage on the road for the fans who can’t always make the trip.”

The Birmingham Bulls and The Huntsville Havoc are tied 3-3 on the season series.
